Founding Batch 001 is the very first release of KIMIKO Matcha. Sourced from Uji, Japan, this ceremonial grade matcha was selected for its vibrant green colour, smooth flavour and ability to cut through milk without becoming bitter or overpowering.

Whether you enjoy it iced or hot, it's crafted to make an everyday matcha latte you'll actually look forward to drinking.

Tasting notes:
Smooth, balanced, creamy and lightly earthy.

Perfect for:
Iced matcha lattes, hot matcha lattes and daily matcha rituals.

How Kim likes it:
Whisk 2–2.5g of matcha with a tiny pinch of salt and around 30ml of warm water until smooth and frothy. Add a little vanilla syrup to your glass, fill with ice, pour in around 150ml of oat milk (we love Minor Figures Barista Oat), then slowly pour the matcha over the top.

Makes:
Approximately 15–20 servings, depending on how you prepare it.

Size:
30g tin

What does matcha actually taste like?

A good matcha shouldn’t taste overly bitter or like grass.

Kimiko is smooth, creamy and slightly earthy with enough depth to still come through milk in lattes.

Does matcha have any benefits?

Many people switch to matcha because it gives a more balanced energy compared to coffee.

Matcha naturally contains caffeine alongside L-theanine, which is known for promoting a calmer, more focused feeling.

What do I need to make it?

You can start with just matcha, warm water and a spoon.

We recommend pairing it with the KIMIKO Bamboo Whisk (Chasen) for the smoothest, creamiest results, and using a sieve to remove any clumps.

Is it good for iced lattes?

Yes! KIMIKO was chosen specifically for iced and everyday lattes, with enough flavour to cut through milk without tasting harsh.
